The CEC Food Pantry has a new source of fresh vegetables! We have had a community garden before, but over the years haven’t had anyone to tend to it effectively. All that changed thanks to Jamie Vanderveer!

Jamie approached the CEC in early April about reviving the garden to provide fresh and healthy vegetables to families. Of course we said yes! Jamie and her family immediately went to work getting the garden ready. They moved blocks, replaced PVC pipes for watering and got the garden ready to plant!

The garden is now growing and thriving! Jamie comes several times a week to harvest the crop to share with families. Jamie and her family have been long-time volunteers with the CEC. Her sons have provided beautiful music to our seniors and played at our Christmas events as well. Thank you, Jamie for your caring heart and hard work!
